Milk
There is little doubt that there is a strong link between milk consumption and major diseases like heart disease and cancer. However refined oils are also implicated as is refined carbohydrate. Also patterns of interaction between these food groups appear across studies. Clearly the situation is a complex one. But not necessarily too complex if we start simplifying our lives starting to consume more of those foods which we know are beneficial. Especially those containing omega 3 EFA, catechin, anthocyanin and arginine. In any case inverting the stupid food pyramid by totally eliminating bread, pasta, sugar and cookies; and replacing with fruit and vegetables is a good start. However the purpose of this article is basically this: Is all milk bad?
Milk or Dairy?
I would like to bring into focus a particular little known aspect of the dairy health risk issue. That is the finding by S. Seely in "Diet and Coronary Disease: A Survey of Mortality Rates and Food Consumption Statistics of 24 Countries," reported in Medical Hypotheses, 7, No. 7 (1981), 907-918. After adjustment for statistical variation Seely concluded that there was an exact correlation between the consumption of unfermented milk protein and heart disease. This study was conducted in 24 countries and on the face of it Seely has paid more attention to the important question of "milk or dairy?.
Since I have learned about this study (and it relates to other studies done since) I have incorporated yoghurt, cheese, cream and butter back into my diet in moderation. After all if you are taking omega 3 EFA both as a tablespoon of flaxseed oil and one of cod liver oil, and three cups of strong bitter cooking cocoa with cream and no sugar, and make fruit and vegetable the base of your food pyramid you can relax. That's assuming that you haven't chosen a stressful lifestyle lacking in fun and exercise. If that's the problem, something has to go.
Other Dietary Factors
From the above it actually follows that low fat milk sponsored by the heart foundation is most likely the worst cause of heart disease. So we can't just assume that we are being told the truth. There is a lot of money tied up in this industry.
The same applies to refined carbohydrates. Elsewhere on this site you can find articles about how I have treated conditions successfully with mollases. That's what they took out of sugar isn't it? So they took all the goodness (minerals in particular) out. I am also taking expellor wheatgerm oil, and find it very beneficial. Isn't that what they removed from the flour?

Steak has never exactly been lauded as a health food, although I don't condemn it either. After all it is the truth that really matters.
Finally just a warning about the quality of oil that you consume. Natural fats like butter are better than refined oils like cheap canola oil. Make sure your oil is cold pressed or extra virgin. Also increase the ratio of omega 3 by consuming fish, walnuts, cod liver oil and flaxseed oil. Too much omega 6 causes inflammation whereas omega 3 is anti-inflammatory.
Conclusion
Most likely unfermented milk protein is one of the worst things that you can have, but other dairy products where this is not an issue may be ok. In fact other dairy products may have excellent health benefits.
